It's safe to say that most of the music-oriented websites I'm about to criticize have failed in some way. I'll try Buy propecia online nz to make this list as comprehensive possible. If you know of any website that you think I'm giving a platform to that has failed (or at least you've seen how they've failed to live up what they promise), please tell me - the worst that can happen is some musicians I haven't heard of find out about it and decide to give a try.
Please also leave any comments or suggestions for this post in the comments below, as I am looking for suggestions.
1. AllMusic.net
AllMusic.net is your basic music site - the kind of music site that has all of the songs, artists and albums that you could possibly listen to on any given day. And, in general, that's pretty true; there are plenty of things that you can listen to on any given day that you won't find on other music sites.
I really wanted to like this site, because I have the exact opposite of a music-saturated life that I'd like to have. But it has failed me so far that it has made me want to give it a very loud "nose-to-nose" hug (that's the German word for "greeting") with all my music loving friends and fellow fanatics.
In general, AllMusic.net has always tried to be more "festival and concert oriented" than anything else. The site is also fairly easy to navigate through. Unfortunately, there's a problem with this approach that really has not been fixed, and that is they have a very difficult time deciding who to have feature on their site.
They have a few "famous" artists, but if you follow most popular artists on Twitter (and they are most popular in this genre), some of the artists they feature have very little to add what's available here other than Twitter updates. A few of the lesser known artists are featured too, but the general rule seems to have been that if something is popular enough, then they should feature it and if they aren't, then won't. It's frustrating to find the same artists mentioned on a dozen or more different places (and they have at least 1 or 2 dozen posts a day).
I understand that they have to do this, because the site is paying for that exposure. I do understand that. But it gets a little ridiculous, especially since they have featured so many artists (which is why I have to mention this), and this kind of thing is pretty hard to do right.
At the end of day (when I first heard of this website), these are the artists that featured on AllMusic
2. Pitchfork.com
Pitchfork is a website designed to be for people who love music. It is also for writers, and you might not think this to be true, which is why it should be mentioned. That is the core of Pitchfork.
At this point, I really want to write this sentence: "I have heard of Pitchfork before it was cool."
